Celebrations in the Bay for the Golden Jubilee of H.M.The Queen

Brittania sang a rousing "Rule Brittania" then strode off into the non too warm waters of the English Channel midst a standing ovation from the amazed assembled citizens.

Despite the weather ( which was worse almost everywhere else!) hundreds turned up to join in races, games, and a sing-song which climaxed with Brittania singing Rule Brittania as she shed her regalia and plunged into the sea. This act of Great British Spirit, or lunacy, was mightily cheered by the assembled company. Later as dusk fell some gathered round the beach bonfire while a good crowd watched short films projected onto the cliffs.
