Land based	Walking, cycling and riding. Dimbola museum, galleries and tearoom, bird watching in Afton Marsh and along the coast. The area is considered to be one of the best places to see the night sky (despite the floodlit Holiday Fellowship hotel). Photography is very popular, especially landscape and buildings. Dimbola runs Life Drawing sessions. Paragliding lessons. Sun bathing, rock pools and other beach activities. Land based fishing. West Wight Sports Centre is located close by in Freshwater village, where there are also a pub and cafes.
Water based	There is currently no place from which to hire water based equipment in the Bay, however there are clubs that use the Bay. Diving, canoeing, sailing, surfing, wind surfing and fishing. There is an inshore and off shore lifeboat based at the Bay but they like people to consider the dangers first and take precautions, rather than go for the rescue option.
